Zusammenfassung:Article included in a special issue devoted to the theme: Animal minds. Reports an interview with Sam Gosling, a researcher in personality and social perception at the Department of Psychology, Texas University at Austin, Texas, about how to recognise the characteristics of personality in animals, particularly dogs, hyenas and humans. The work undertaken with dogs led to the development of a personality test concerned with two main aspects of behaviour: dominance, and sociability.
