Earthquake-like behaviour of soft γ-ray repeaters

A study shows that flashes of low-energy gamma-rays from soft gamma-ray repeaters (SGRs) events and earthquakes share four distinctive statistical properties. This suggests that SGRs are indeed powered by starquakes.
