Erupting Neighbors-At Last

The Sep 19, 1994 eruption of the Rabaul volcano in Papua New Guinea provided some important lessons for seismologists. Although volcanologists expected the eruption in the mid-1980s, the public and scientific community was still ready for the blast and only a dozen people were killed.
