Zusammenfassung:The top 20 policy and research priorities for conditions such as diabetes, stroke and heart disease. Going global The Feature on page 494 marks the launch of the Grand Challenges Global Partnership, a forum for research funding organizations designed to tackle the world-wide epidemic of chronic non-communicable diseases — mainly heart disease, stroke, some cancers, respiratory disorders and diabetes. Their new web site ( http://www.mrcglobal.org ) lists 20 Grand Challenges for the researcher, on the lines of the 2003 Grand Challenges in Global Health initiative fronted by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
