Conference Report: The Second GPN Congress, Zhenjiang, 2008

Prior to the second congress, the views of 1,268 planners from over 110 countries had been elicited through an online 'self-diagnostic tool to assess the capacity of planning',18 sponsored by the RTPI and the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. Since most of the planners participating in this exercise were unable to attend the congress, the RTPI delegates (including the lead author of this report) fed their suggestions to the congress through a matrix of three action areas:19 networking, capacity-building and advocacy.
