Zusammenfassung:No single modality is appropriate for treatment of the huge invasive basal cell carcinoma. Mohs' chemosurgery is perhaps the most efficacious ablative method, but it must be supplemented by a reconstructive procedure in nearly all sizable lesions. A case history is presented of a patient with massive basal cell carcinoma involving the entire posterior scalp and deep tissues in which chemosurgical ablation and major staged reconstruction proceeded concurrently to a successful conclusion. The advantages of this approach are discussed.
