Zusammenfassung: | A case history of a 7-month-old Israeli girl hospitalized because of failure to thrive and motor retardation is reported. Pregnancy and delivery were normal. The infant had normal serum B12 levels but low serum folate values. A diet of milk, cereals, egg yolk and folic acid was prescribed. After 3 weeks on the diet the infant gained weight. Folic acid was administered for one year and a significant improvement in neuromuscular performance resulted. |
