Zusammenfassung:Controversial reports exist on the prognosis of young women with carcinoma of the cervix. In a cooperative study the results of treatment of 980 patients with squamous cell carcinoma were evaluated. The patients underwent uniform surgical treatment. The 5-year survival rate of patients under 35 years of age was 80.1%, and for patients over 35 years of age, 81.7%. Evaluation of clinical staging, histologically proven tumor spread, and calculated tumor volume also showed no statistically significant differences between survival rates of younger and older patients.
