Zusammenfassung:An investigation was carried out into the incidence of vasovagal episodes during simple surgical treatment under local anaesthesia. Two per cent of patients showed evidence of such reactions and it was particularly common among young adult males. Various factors in the aetiology of these episodes and the efficacy of methods of treatment were studied. A possible explanation for the physiological changes is presented.
