Spontaneous rupture of the oesophagus and massive pneumoperitoneum

A case of spontaneous rupture of the abdominal oesophagus is described. The presentation, after an interval of 4 weeks from the onset of symptoms, was unusual, with massive pneumoperitoneum without peritonitis.
