Postgraduate Education in Medical Microbiology: A Survey of Seventeen Years of the Course Leading to the Diploma in Bacteriology

The training program in Microbiology leading to the award of the Diploma in Bacteriology, offered by the Department of Microbiology, School of Hygiene, University of Toronto, during the sessions 1958-59 to 1974-75 is reviewed. Origin and past training as well as employment and achievements of the graduates is presented. L'article passe en revue le programme de formation en microbiologie conduisant à un diplôme en bactériologie offert par le département de Microbiologie de l'Ecole d'Hygiène de l'Université de Toronto; cette enquête recouvre les sessions 1958-59 à 1974-75. L'étude remonte aux origines du programme, à sa formation et aux succès des diplômés sur le marché du travail.
