Zusammenfassung: | On July 1, 1977, the Canadian Institute of Child Health (Institut canadien de la santé infantile) began operation in Ottawa. The mission of this new institute is to be an effective and useful force to improve the health and, therefore, the quality of life of Canadian children. Health is defined as complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and the target population will be all children from conception to 18 years of age, or approximately 8 million Canadians.
In June 1975, The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation commissioned Shirley E. Post to examine the need for an institute of child health and to prepare a report for the Foundation. |
