Antenatal screening for Down's syndrome: where are we and where next?

The use of screening procedures to identify Down's syndrome in babies of women over 35 has been around since the 1970s. In 1984, advances in the screening procedure allowed the test to be offered to younger women. Haddow discusses antenatal screening procedures and future expectations.
