Zusammenfassung: | Isoproterenol induces changes resembling developmental maturation in the submandibular gland. The protein content of these glands was compared by acrylamide-gel electrophoresis to proteins of glands from adult controls, and from adults treated with isoproterenol. Extensive modifications in protein patterns appeared to be unique to isoproterenol treatment, rather than similar to developmental changes. This suggests that any developmental changes induced by isoproterenol are accompanied by changes unique to the treatment itself. |
