Zusammenfassung:	C calls of the thyroid have been examined in five cases of primary hyperparathyroidism caused by the presence of single adenoma. C cell identification was based on “masked metachromasia” reaction and cholinesterase activity in all the five cases, and additionally in one of the cases on electron-microscopic examination. In one of the five cases hyperplasia of C cells was found.
