Zusammenfassung: | Methods and results are reported from a study of diet and weight gain in pregnancy. The findings show a correlation between height and body weight of the mother before pregnancy and the size of the fetus. The results also confirm that excessive weight gains during pregnancy may promote the development of obesity. Even in affluent societies without malnutrition, special attention must be paid to the composition and nutrient density of the diet during pregnancy. |
