Zusammenfassung:1. 1. The radioisotope of lead, 210Pb, was used to examine lead uptake and the subcellular distribution of lead in developing sea urchin embryos. 2. 2. 210Pb uptake was found to be linear throughout the first 72hr of development. 3. 3. Each of the subcellular fractions contained substantial quantities of 210Pb with the cytosol generically having the highest concentration, the nuclear fraction the lowest and the mitochrondrial and microsomal fractions having intermediate concentrations. 4. 4. When the cytosol was further fractionated by chromatography on G-75 Sephadex the 210Pb was found associated with three discrete peaks.
