Zusammenfassung: | A case report is presented whereby a maxillary lateral incisor with a radiographically demonstrable accessory root was treated endodontically; both nonsurgical and surgical treatments failed. The tooth was extracted, decalcified, and sectioned. Histologic examination showed an anatomical defect in the groove between the roots that allowed for communication of the pulp and periodontal tissues, thus accounting for the failure. |
