Zusammenfassung: | Meetings this month of the World Parks Congress and the World Forestry Congress have all the trappings of any modern international conference in the environment. Suzuki discusses the state of the world's parks and forests and suggests strategies that will enable forests, and the diversity of life they support, to flourish for future generations. For a forest conservation program to succeed, critical components, including authority coming from government officials implementing polices and accountability from scientist to find ways for a growing human population to live within the limits of the ecosystems, and an action plan, are vital. |
