Zusammenfassung:Forty essential hypertensive patients served as subjects. Twenty received psychophysiological treatment and the other twenty were given beta receptor blockers during the treatment period. Following three months of treatment, the results showed that psychophysiological treatment was sufficient to reduce hypertension in some patients with mild hypertension. The application of a mental load test showed that these 9 patients reached the same BP decreases as the Talinolol group. The positive outcome of behavioral treatments lasted over a one year follow up period.
