Zusammenfassung:Two hundred and seventeen children with acute osteomyelitis have been reviewed and the clinical features, and operative and microbiological findings have been analysed. Nine patients developed long term sequelae; in six patients these may have been preventable. Our views regarding chemotherapy and the place of surgery are discussed in relation to these results.
