Zusammenfassung:The development of acute tolerance to the opiate fentanyl was shown in three groups of postoperative patients. The three groups received high, medium and low doses respectively intraoperatively. Postoperatively, despite large differences in their plasma fentanyl levels, no difference was found between the three groups in terms of analgesic requirement, blood gases, plasma cortisol and glucose.
