Effectiveness of sirolimus-eluting stent implantation for recurrent in-stent restenosis after brachytherapy

This report evaluated sirolimus-eluting stent implantation to treat recurrent in-stent restenosis after failed brachytherapy in 12 consecutive patients. This strategy appeared to be safe and clinically effective, although the high rate of angiographic restenosis observed suggests a reduced efficacy...

Zusammenfassung:This report evaluated sirolimus-eluting stent implantation to treat recurrent in-stent restenosis after failed brachytherapy in 12 consecutive patients. This strategy appeared to be safe and clinically effective, although the high rate of angiographic restenosis observed suggests a reduced efficacy of rapamycin to prevent neointimal hyperplasia in this setting compared with the treatment of de novo lesions.
