Zusammenfassung:Redox potential can be controlled in fermentations. Control systems for oxygen concentration using redox potential as the control variable to regulate oxygen supply have been described. Previous workers have described a pH control system based upon the production of acid and base by the electrochemical oxidation and reduction of water. This communication will describe a derivative of this electrochemical pH control system that controls the redox potential of a fermentor at low levels in the presence of high levels of oxygen.
