Technique for recording spectra in fabry-perot interferometry

Description of a new technique for data acquisition in Fabry-Perot spectroscopy. The advantages of the new technique over previously reported ones include the minimization of effects of nonlinearity and nonreproducibility on the ramp. The technique has recently been used to record Brillouin spectra of solid neon. In this experiment the laser component was used for stabilization, and the accumulation time was about 2 hr.
