Zusammenfassung:Determination of refractive index dispersion for F-doped fused SiO sub 2 containing 1 and 2% F showed that addition of F reduces the refractive index and material dispersion. Fibers modeled for minimization of modal dispersion having fused SiO sub 2 cores and F-doped SiO sub 2 cladding showed a strong composition dependence of the optimum refractive index profile.
