Euphorcinol: a new pentacyclic triterpene from Euphorbia tirucalli

Abstract Euphorcinol, a new triterpene of the friedelane group, has been isolated from the fresh and un-dried stem bark of EUPHORBIA TIRUCALLI. The structure 1 is assigned to it on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic studies including 2D-NMR.
