Sub-shot-noise microscopy : imaging of faint phase objects with squeezed light

A scheme based on spatially multimode squeezed light generated by a traveling-wave optical parametric amplifier is proposed. The scheme makes it possible to image a faint phase object with sensitivity better than the shot-noise limit. (AIAA)
