Zusammenfassung:[...] the task force reviewed existing literature on screening for TBI, examined the efforts of individual military Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF's) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Centers that had implemented TBI screening locally, consulted with the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC), and considered data on the natural history of TBI. Scope of Guideline * This Evidence Based Guideline applies to adult patients (18 years or older) who are diagnosed with concussion/mTBI and complain of symptoms related to the injury and who are treated in VA/DoD clinical settings for these symptoms at least 7 days after the initial head injury. * The guideline is relevant to all healthcare professionals providing or directing treatment services to patients with concussion/mTBI in any VA/DoD healthcare setting, including both primary and specialty care. * This guideline does not address: management of concussion/mTBI in the acute phase (< 7 days post injury), management of moderate or severe TBI, mTBI presented as polytrauma and managed in an inpatient setting, or mTBI in children.
