Zusammenfassung: | Attention is given to a novel extension of modulation spectroscopy into the radio frequency region, which leads to an improvement in signal quality for the specific case in which the pump pulse equals the probe pulse. Data are presented for cresyl violet which illustrate the technique for transient dichroism studies of reorientation motion. These are compared with other modulation spectroscopy techniques, together with the results of previous work in this area. Novel relaxation data on cresyl violet in binary polar liquids are presented as part of a study of microscopic molecular interactions and dynamics in liquids. |
