Zusammenfassung: | Abstract Tapping and aspirating abscesses or fluid collections in children can be difficult and even hazardous. A simple technique is described based on limiting the depth of penetration of the needle. This is achieved by removing the tubular plastic needle cover (or cap), cutting it to a predetermined length and replacing it. Thus, the cap acts as a “stopper.” In addition, this approach allows the operator to perform the task with only 1 hand on the syringe-needle unit. |
