Zusammenfassung:	Mbopi-Keou et al asses the HIV-1 proviral genital load in HIV-1 and HSV-2-coninfected women of Bangui, Africa so as to define better the nature of interactions between HSV-2 and HIV-1 in the female genital tract. The observations suggest that HSV-2 genital replication may influence the genital production of cell-free HIV-1 RNA rather than that of cell-integrated HIV-1 DNA.
