Hydrogen Autotransfer in the N-Alkylation of Amines and Related Compounds using Alcohols and Amines as Electrophiles

The use of alcohols and amines as catalysts for hydrogen transfer is examined. It is suggested that substituting these catalysts for the traditional and more hazardous alkyl halides is both cost-effective and eco-friendly.
