Zusammenfassung:U-shaped calixsalens can be efficient building blocks for the construction of molecular boxes or cavitands. The first example of a calixsalen complex that has no coordination between the metal ion and phenolic oxygen atom was provided by X-ray. The resulting molecular structure has a high thermal stability, but completely degrades after the addition of DMSO.
