Zusammenfassung: | To the Editor.—
We recently examined two children with tinea corporis who were unresponsive to naftifine therapy. Fungal cultures grew Trichophyton tonsurans and their clinical lesions subsequently cleared with clotrimazole. This experience and the presence of naftifine advertisements in Pediatrics (March 1992) prompted us to share information regarding this medication with fellow pediatricians.
Naftifine hydrochloride (Naftin) 1% cream, an allylamine antifungal agent, the first of its kind available in the United States, has been reported to be highly effective in the treatment of tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis. |
