Zusammenfassung:Laparoscopy in urology has been slow to develop in the United Kingdom. Much of the pioneering work has been done in America and continental Europe. It is gradually gaining in popularity as urologists and the general public become more aware of the advantages it offers in terms of patient morbidity and surgical results. The aim of this review is to summarize the development of laparoscopic urology to date and to examine the various indications and the benefits of its application.
