Zusammenfassung:The effects of castration on the concentration of luteinizing hormone releasing hormone (LHRH) in the anterior pituitary (PIT) was studied in freely-behaving male rats using a push-pull cannula for sampling. In over 70 perfusions of the PIT of rats sampled before and at multiple days after castration there was no consistent change detected in the overall amount, secretory pulse amplitude or frequency or the LHRH signal reaching the PIT.
