Zusammenfassung:We have developed a novel, simple and sensitive bioassay for glycopeptide drugs, using a Streptococcus sanguis strain and 5% whole blood agar. The technique has been shown to be reliable and reproducible over a range of drug concentrations from 0 multiplied by 25 to 250 mg/L, for a variety of known and novel glycopeptides. We present here the design and details of this novel bioassay.
