Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) has RNA silencing suppressor activity. TSWV NSs protein suppressed sense transgene-induced PTGS but did not suppress inverted repeat transgene-induced PTGS. TSWV NSs protein is the first RNA silencing suppressor identified in negative-strand RNA viruses. |
