Chromium bound to DNA alters cleavage by restriction endonucleases

We report that the presence of chromium-DNA adducts can inhibit as well as enhance cleavage by restriction endonucleases, depending on the endonuclease involved, the DNA substrate, and the extent of chromium-DNA binding.
