Zusammenfassung:Previous surveys have revealed troubling gaps between training and research and practice in psychotherapy. In this study, a selective review of research on child therapy and therapy training was conducted in order to address questions concerning who, what, how, and when to train child therapists. This review revealed substantial gaps in our current empirical knowledge about child therapy training, but some promising leads as well. A science-based approach to child therapy training is advocated.
