Zusammenfassung:Locomotor activity measured in an open-field apparatus was increased by adding partitions to enhance exploratory locomotion and by injecting amphetamine into the nucleus accumbens. Administration of the dopamine D 2 agonist, quinpirole, into the nucleus accumbens reduced significantly both exploratory and amphetamine-elicited locomotion. It is suggested that these effects of quinpirole are mediated by different presynaptic mechanisms.
