Zusammenfassung:The authors deal with the problems of reconstruction of gastrointestinal continuity after esophagectomy. They present the advantages of the stomach which is an especially good mediastinal as well as retrosternal substituent. One case of restoration of gastrointestinal continuity after both esophagectomy and gastrectomy by a jejunal loop with anastomosis on the neck is also presented.
