Zusammenfassung:	This report presents the results of a vaccine coverage survey that was performed in the Tyrol (Austria) in 1997. The major finding is that pockets of children susceptible to poliomyelitis currently exist in the area, because of delayed immunisation. The cause for the delay is the practice of interrupting oral poliomyelitis vaccine (OPV) administration during summer months.
