Zusammenfassung:Analysis of HIV seroprevalence among patients attending sexually transmitted disease (STD) clinic during 1998-2000. Unlinked anonymous serologic survey among 5,968 patients of seven STD clinics in Spain. HIV-1 seroprevalence has decreased from 3.7% in 1998 to 1.7% in 2000 (p < 0.0001). In 2000 it reached 10.6% among homo/bisexual men, 0.4% among sexworkers, and 3.4% among other heterosexual categories. Drugs injecting and STD were associated with a higher prevalence. Among people with sexual risk behaviours, STD and HIV-infection are strongly associated, and this demonstrates the convenience of integrate their attendance.
