Effectiveness of tirofiban, eptifibatide, and abciximab in minimizing myocardial necrosis during percutaneous coronary intervention (TEAM pilot study)

A randomized head-to-head comparison of the 3 glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors during high-risk percutaneous coronary intervention is featured. The study shows that in the setting of less than 90% platelet inhibition, similar periprocedural enzyme release and 30-day major adverse cardiac events can be accomplished regardless of the type of glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitor used.
