Zusammenfassung:	A 24-year-old male presented with exertional dyspnoea of one year's duration. Echocardiography revealed an unruptured aneurysm of the left sinus of Valsalva distorting the mitral valvar apparatus and producing severe regurgitation in the absence of myocardial ischemia or infarction. We propose an alternate mechanism for the mitral regurgitation.
