Zusammenfassung:Three of a kind: The open‐chain trioxide bis(fluoroformyl)trioxide, FC(O)OOOC(O)F, is prepared on preparative scale by treating CO with F2 in an oxygen atmosphere (see scheme; F green, O blue, C gray). The unstable FC(O)OOOC(O)F is characterized fully including X‐ray diffraction. In the crystal structure the most stable rotamer (trans‐syn‐syn) is present as only one of two possible chiral helical molecules.
