Zusammenfassung:A colored butterfly can be drawn in three dimensions by the precipitation and control of Au nanoparticles inside transparent materials (see picture). The precipitation involves two processes: photoreduction of Au ions induced by femtosecond laser irradiation, and precipitation of Au particles driven by heat treatment. The size of the nanoparticles and their spatial distribution can be controlled by the irradiation conditions and annealing temperature.
