Zusammenfassung:Diaphragmatic hernia occurs when any of the four separate structures making up the diaphragm (the septum transversum, pleuroperitoneal membranes, dorsal mesentery of the esophagus, and body wall) fail to grow toward each other or to fuse by the eighth week after conception.
